EDITOR IN CHIEF OF THE JOURNAL OF INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE COMMENTS ABOUT A NATIONAL PRESENTATION REGARDING THE WORK OF DR CRAIG OSTER AT PERSONALIZED LIFESTYLE MEDICINE INSTITUTES THOUGHT LEADERS CONSORTIUM:
“Coco Newton, MPH, RD, CCN, Clinical Nutrition.
Coco, through the stories of two patients with ALS, Craig
Oster, PhD, and former NFL player, Steve Smith, presented
on the growing importance of social networks as part of
the health care system. Her description of Dr Craig’s story
and his use of real food to improve his health was quite
compelling.”

My scientific advisors and I are working on getting a meeting with the Chief of Care Services, Ms. Kim Maginnis and decision makers from the national ALS Association regarding modifying ALSA dietary recommendations to be more evidence based regarding nutritional sciences. There is no scientific evidence supporting the use of a high sugar diet with processed junk foods as preferable to a high calorie nutrient dense diet, at least not of which my scientific associates and I are aware; in fact, science points to the opposite of what ALSA recommends. ALSA currently advises on their website that people with ALS who desire weight gain, consume two daily shakes including sugary Ensure, ice cream, chocolate syrup and cookies like Oreo cookies [http://www.alsa.org/als-care/resources/publications-videos/factsheets/ensure-shake.html].
The circle of scientists and world renowned medical experts supporting my scientific orientation regarding ALS dietary recommendations, is growing and I just recruited scientists from Boston University and Harvard University Medical School. God willing, ALSA, a publicly funded organization that promotes and markets itself as driven by science, will meet with and consider what my scientific advisory team and I have to say regarding having ALS dietary recommendations which are more consistent with the scientific understanding of ALS and the scientific research of nutritional biochemistry. I will keep you posted. I requested a meeting three weeks ago, but the ALSA Director of Communication, Ms. Stephanie Dufner said that the Chief of Care Services has been traveling to conferences to a significant extent.
I pray that we can work together to help ALS sufferers have greater wellness, ASAP.
With love and gratitude,
Dr Craig
Craig Oster, PhD
Dr. Craig Oster’s work should be strongly supported by the scientific community. My best regards
Thank you Professor!
