I recently posted a critique of what I believed to be a statement from ALIVE New York 2012. I am grateful that they have now clarified that they are in no way now connected to the event that Wade T. Lightheart is hosting. I will share my posting with you now, and then tell you a little bit about my telephone conversation with Wade:
Dr Craig Posting
ALIVE fiasco becomes even more ridiculous as the organizers seem to re-frame their approach away from celebrities into terms that sound like a 12 step program for recovery from addiction. I am saddened by this tactic, and find it quite ironic because as many or most people know the 12 step programs are known for their focus on ruthless honesty and making amends.
This is their posting from today:
“Staying Alive in NYC 2012 Conference is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may help others overcome Dis-Ease improve the quality of life by sharing how they produce optimum health & vitality. The only requirement for attendance is a desire to overcome Dis-Ease and to improve one’s health. There are no dues or fees to attend this event; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. Staying Alive in NYC 2012 is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to overcome Dis-Ease, produce health & vitality and help other individuals to achieve the same.”
Those two paragraphs posted by me got to the attention of Wade, and he wrote me to thank me for making it clear to him that this impression was being given by the ALIVE organization. We had a beautiful talk, and he had the high vibration going on. He said that Joshua and Anna pointed him to the venue, but are in no way currently involved with the event that he is hosting. I think that he and I may have a different definition of how much mudslinging is going on, yet we agreed upon praying for everyone involved.
I explained to him that I respect the 12 steps philosophy, yet I felt irritated when I had the impression that Joshua and Anna gave me and some others that your event was associated with their organization. They have now made it clear that they have no association with this free event that Wade is sponsoring. He said he is speaking and releasing his new book at the event. I believe that he said that he currently has seven other speakers in the lineup. I asked that he post the list on my page when it becomes available.
He is positively focused. We had some good laughs. This is a man who is passionate about health and health education, and has the background and accomplishments to back it up. I appreciate the leadership of Mike Adams and Wade Lightheart in organizing and sponsoring free health events this coming weekend. Joshua and Anna, I do wish you well. Things will play out as they play out, and it only makes sense to wish everybody well.
