Dr. Trevor Cates received her medical degree from the National College of Natural Medicine in 2000 and was the first woman licensed as a naturopathic doctor in the state of California. While practicing in California, she was appointed by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to California’s Bureau of Naturopathic Medicine Advisory Council. As vice-chairperson of the council, she helped advise the Bureau of Naturopathic Medicine, within the Department of Consumer Affairs, on the future rights and regulations of the naturopathic profession in California. She was also selected by the Bureau to serve on the Formulary Committee, helping make recommendations on the prescriptive rights of licensed California naturopathic doctors. Dr. Cates was also elected by her colleagues to the board of directors of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, the national professional organization for naturopathic physicians and served on the Integrative Medicine Consortium representing and creating a uniting voice for physician level integrative medicine practitioners. She now serves on the EndoANP board, the Endocrinology Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
After moving to Utah, Dr. Cates was the Naturopathic Physician and Nutrition & Wellness Coordinator for the Waldorf Astoria Park City, where she created wellness programs for the spa. In private practice in Park City, Utah, she continues to see a broad list of patients globally with a holistic, integrative approach to total wellness. Dr. Cates is a sought after speaker and educator for events nationwide, and she consults businesses around the world how to successfully implement wellness programs, services and products. She is also a feature contributor on wellness for FOX13 News and has her own podcast show.
