Evelyn R. McDonald, MSN, DMin

Rev. Dr. Evelyn (Evy) McDonald graduated from Nebraska Methodist School of Nursing and went on to get a BSN and a MSN.  She worked in a major trauma center, taught neurosurgical nursing, directed ICU-CCU, and was director of Education at Hillhaven Hospice in Tucson, Arizona when there were only three hospices in the US.

In 1981 Evy was told that she had less than one year to live.  Her journey through illness back to health is a living testament about the power of healing.  Her varied career led her to do major research on long-term versus short-term survivors of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.  In addition Evy co-founded The New Road Map Foundation, an educational and charitable organization.

Over the years she has published articles in simple living, health, wellness, and aligning our values with how we live. Evy went on to receive a Master in Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees.  Currently she is the Senior Pastor at Grace United Methodist Church in Newburgh, New York.
