Dr. Wahls is a clinical professor of medicine at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City and is certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. In 2003 she was diagnosed with secondary progressive Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and became dependent upon a tilt recline wheelchair. In 2007, using a protocol which she created, Dr. Wahls reversed her disease and can now commute to work via her bicycle. She is the lead scientist in a clinical trial testing her interventions in others with progressive MS. Dr. Wahls is a passionate practitioner of functional medicine.
